Afterglow
With Christmas all said and done with I have been reveling in the vastness of my gifts. I received a bathrobe, long wool socks, mouthwash, whitening toothpaste, a juicer, a double-walled tea thermos, and loads of cash.
Now, as a little disclaimer
, I did ask for all of these things, mainly because I wanted them but would not normally spend the money to buy them myself. The bathrobe and socks...

Waiting & Christmas Morning
I’m just sitting here in bed blogging on Christmas morning because my brother is still sleeping. Although I clearly have facial hair, am eighteen, and go to college I am still not old enough to avoid the Christmas tradition of reading Santa’s letter and waiting at the top of the stairs with my sibling for my parents to make sure Santa came.

Norwegian Wood →
I bought this book last year after being recommended it by one of my uncles. I’m not too good at finishing books, so I haven’t touched it since I started it but I’m going to get back to it while I’m on Christmas Break.

Another Strange, but brief, Encounter at Work
Today while working at Hollister I was positioned in the front room where my job is basically to greet people and had the following chat:
Me: Hey, what's up? Welcome to the pier. (Yes, the tagline we HAVE to say is "Welcome to the pier.")
Customer (walking in with her arms crossed): So far so good.
Now I don't know how to take that; as a compliment or to just be weirded out that somehow she expected her shopping adventure at Hollister to be dangerous or frightful.

Working on Register
Today while working cash register at Hollister I had this tid bit of a conversation with a customer while finishing up her transaction:
Me: Do you want the receipt with you or in the bag?
Customer: In me. Thanks!
(I know my head is probably just in the gutter but I couldn't help but shoot her a wide grin and say, "Have a good one!")

Gentlemen of Bacongo →
I love learning about other cultures and I found this book while looking around the internet. It’s about a subculture in the Congo called La Sape (an acronym Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes, or the Society of Tastemakers and Elegant People) where men who live in slums dress in designer suits and bold colors. Looks very interesting!
